8th Annual FUE Europe Conference, Manchester, UK, June 6-8, 2019 FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14,000 Grafts Speakers: Tsvetalin Zarev, MD; Moderators: John P. Cole, MD - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
Hello everyone, I am Dr. Zarev from Bulgaria. I have been doing hair transplant for the last 9 years and this is my first participation in such a meeting. First I want to thank Dr. Cole for the invitation. About six months ago, he saw some of my results, and for this reason I am here before you.    FUE super giga-sessions up to 14,000 grafts, this is the title of my presentation. It sounds unrealistic, but it is quite possible. It is possible when patients have enough follicular units in the donor areas and pure follicular units are extracted without or with minimal surrounding tissue. Right from the beginning of my practice, I saw that standard manual and motorized FUE techniques impose some limitations, which in many cases do not allow such results. So, over 5 years ago, I started developing a technique and an equipment to achieve my goals. When I manage to do that, I can extract up to 60% from the donor areas without significantly affecting their visual density and leaving no noticeable scars on the skin. This makes it possible to actually redistribute the available hair when it is needed and to achieve natural visual density, even in high degree of androgenic alopecia. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
These are some of my cases with more than 10,000 grafts. In some of them up to 14,000 grafts can be transplanted, if necessary. I will present in detail two of these cases. One with short hair in the donor areas and one with long hair. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
This is the first case with a total of 12,620 grafts. The result was achieved in two interventions. During the first intervention, in two surgical days I transplanted 9350 grafts. 33 months later, in one surgical day I transplanted another 3270 grafts. The result is 7 months after the second hair transplant. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts

This is a detailed information about the first surgical day. In general, in the first part of the operation I extracted 4 670 grafts from right part of the donor area. After 1 hour rest I implanted this amount in the back par of the recipient area. The surgical time was 11 hours. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
On the second surgical day I extracted 4680 grafts from the left part of the donor area. After 1 hour rest, I implanted this amount in the front part of the recipient area. The surgical time was 12 hours. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
These are some of the grafts - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
The recipient area 12 hours after the second surgical day. You can also see the micro camera photos from different parts of the frontal parietal area. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
The donor area on the day after surgery. The right part is approximately 36 hours after the extraction, the left approximately 12 hours. You also see the contact between the donor and recipient areas. On the micro camera photos you can see the higher contraction rate of the surgical wounds when working with small diameter punch. This makes it possible to achieve higher extraction rate. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
The left and the right temporal areas. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
The recipient area 8 days after the implantation with micro camera photos. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
The occipital area 8 days after the extraction. On the micro camera photos you can see the healing process of the surgical wounds - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts

This is the second case with 11,370 grafts. First of all, I want to thank this patient because, despite his busy life, he has agreed to come with me and show the result to you. Whenever I plan to recover the hair of my patients, besides the anatomical characteristics, I am also interested in their social status and profession. For me a good result is when the hair looks natural and inherent to the individual characteristics. In Bulgaria, this patient is a very popular producer with many social and media appearances. In this case the technique of transplantation that I use allows me to achieve great visual density of all affected areas, but maximum density does not always mean a perfect result. In this case, the aim was to achieve a soft hair line like a normal frontal retraction with a good density in the rest of the recipient area. The result was achieved in two interventions. During the first intervention, in two surgical days I transplanted 7720 grafts. 11 months later, in one more day I transplanted another 3650 grafts. The patient did not use any treatment to stimulate hair growth after the surgeries. The result you see is only due to the interventions. - Dr. Zarev FUE Super Giga Sessions up to 14000 Grafts
